Mighty Scribes, Editor – 2018-2019
Copyedited several informational articles/blog posts per day for the content developer Well Authored (later went by “Mighty Scribes”), checking for factual accuracy, proper grammar, and a strong voice.

Outer Places, Breaking News Editor – 2017-2018
Worked as the nights-and-weekends editor for the news website Outer Places, handling editorial content (writing and editing other writers) for topics such as science, technology, and science-fiction in popular culture.

Mashable, Freelance Editor and Web Culture Reporting Intern – 2016
Originally came onboard as a reporting intern for Mashable’s “Watercooler” web culture and humor section. Penned several stories per week, often on weird news and viral content (see my writings page for some examples), and humor stories on occasion. I also participated in Facebook live reviews of various products we were covering. Following that, I stayed on as a freelance editor, writing copy/headlines for videos and preparing them for publishing on the website.

Alldayeveryday, Editorial Intern – 2015
Interned at the creative firm Alldayeveryday as an assistant for their online arts and features publication, The Digest. Worked primarily as a copy editor for stories, and was often tasked with sprucing up simplistic stories before publication.

Prague Wandering, Editor in Chief – 2015
Led the Prague Wandering webzine directed at English-speaking expats in Prague, managed by NYU students and faculty at the Prague study-away campus. Subject matter typically concerned local arts, features and dining. Responsible for managing and editing writers and stories (respectively), and keeping the webzine up and running.

Content Magazine, Contributing Writer and Editorial Intern – 2013-2014
Spent two summers during college in my hometown of San Jose, California, where I interned at the South Bay Area-based Content Magazine, which documented the often overshadowed (but thriving) arts community in the tech-heavy Silicon Valley. Conducted interviews and wrote features and profiles of musicians, artists and artsy locales for multiple issues of the print magazine.

Washington Square News, Assistant Managing Editor, Blogs Editor and Features Editor – 2013-2014
During most of my career at NYU, I worked with the NYU’s daily print newspaper, the Washington Square News (it’s since become a weekly paper). Began as a staff writer at the Features Desk, interviewing and covering NYU students, faculty and alumni (one of the highlights of which is my interview with Oscar-winning director Ang Lee). Eventually became the desk editor, and continued being a part of the organization as an Assistant Managing Editor and editor of the paper’s narrative journalism blog, Under the Arch (named for the iconic mini-Arc de Triomphe in Washington Square Park).
